The audit team The basic idea of the audit is to evaluate the individual areas of an EMS by an independent expert or by a team of experts. In many cases the members of the energy team will act as auditors although there are certain preconditions to consider. www.engine-sme.eu
The audit team • The members of the audit team should have appropriate knowledge about the area to be audited including the technical systems, the activities undertaken in the area and the components of an EMS in place. They should know the members of the energy team in the area and the staff working with energy consuming equipment. • The members of the audit team must be sufficiently independent from the activities to be audited. It is obvious that the individual team members must not evaluate areas they are working in. • The audit team should be trained so that there is consistency in the audit process. www.engine-sme.eu
