from the Valadière spring, located on the Fontcaude
estate, has been used since ancient times by the
Romans. In the 19 th century, a thermal baths was
built on the estate, only to close in 1855. It was not
until 2012 that a balneotherapy centre was opened
on the same site. The water flows out of the hot
water spring at 21° and contains a low concentration
of minerals. It is rich in bicarbonate and magnesium
and is now used in the spa’s facilities and in the
two indoor and outdoor pools, as well as for the
treatments, showers and affusions, namely because
it is great for the skin. The Valadière water fountain
is open all the time: this spring water is safe and
chemically stable, so visitors are welcome to drink as
much as they like.
Monthly tests are carried out in order to check its
bacteriological quality and whether it is safe to drink.

In addition to the Valadière spring, the hotel’s main
asset is its geographical location, just 20 minutes
outside Montpellier, inland but close to the coast,
meaning that guests can indulge in a whole host
of activities: canoeing, country walks, hiking in the
Haut Languedoc natural park, visiting the Gorges de
l’Hérault or the Navacelles circus, and much more.
The beach is just 30 minutes away and Montpellier is
even closer.
A top-quality establishment in a green setting
The estate houses a 4-star hotel with 99 bedrooms
and suites, but don’t expect your typical “spa-hotel”
style. Here, the understated yet elegant décor is a
breath of fresh air, with noble and natural materials
taking centre stage to create a comfortable, spacious
and welcoming atmosphere. Located in the heart of
a 200 hectare estate, the hotel’s bedrooms all have
their own patio or balcony, some of which look out
over the 18-hole golf course.
After their treatments, guests can titillate their taste
buds in the hotel’s restaurant, which serves gourmet
bistro fare that showcases local Mediterranean
