L’arrivée à Sansepolcro en Toscane, berceau du célèbre
peintre « Piero Della Francesca » donne le ton, situé
sur l’une des nombreuses petites places de cette commune
de 16 000 habitants, le musée des plantes «Aboca Museum»
est un endroit magique et unique en son genre, à l’image de
son instigateur Valentino Mercati. Dans ce superbe palais Toscan,
est offert aux visiteurs un étonnant voyage dans le temps,
herbiers, fioles, livres de botanique, antiques mortiers, cabinet
d’apothicaire reconstitué retracent subtilement l’histoire des
herbes et plantes à travers les siècles… Au rez-de-chaussée de
la bâtisse, la boutique et herboristerie Aboca ou sont proposés
à la vente tous les produits Aboca Planta Medica.
Aboca une entreprise ou il fait bon travailler
L’empreinte « Aboca » est partout à Sansepolcro, on se rend vite
compte que cette entreprise pour la Toscane est un véritable
poumon économique, elle y emploie environ 1 400 personnes, le
bien-être des salariés y est privilégié : cantine bio, cadre de travail
design et apaisant, bois omniprésent, tapis persans sur les sols,
eau, café, tisanes, thés sont disposés dans chaque allée. La volonté
de former, d’éduquer, d’ouvrir les esprits a conduit Aboca à fonder
sa propre maison d’édition pour diffuser le savoir botanique médical,
et à investir entre autre en 2016 dans un projet éducatif « Arte
Orto » basé sur la nature dans toutes ses expression culturelles.

As we arrive in Sansepolcro in Tuscany, birthplace of
the famous painter Piero Della Francesca, the tone for
our visit is set. Located off a small square in this commune
of 16,000 inhabitants, the Aboca Plant Museum is a magical
place, the only one of its kind, just like its founder Valentino
Mercati. In this superb Tuscan palace, visitors are taken on
an astonishing journey back through time: herbariums, vials,
botany books, old mortars and replica apothecary cabinets all
retrace the history of herbs and plants over the centuries. On
the ground floor, the gift shop and herbalist’s store sell Aboca
Planta Medica products.

Aboca’s mark is everywhere in Sansepolcro: you quickly realise
that this company is a real economic lung for Tuscany. They
employ around 1,400 people, and the employees’ wellbeing
comes first: organic canteen, serene designer workspace,
omnipresent wood, Persian rugs on the floor, water, tea and
coffee on each aisle. The desire to train, educate and open
minds has led Aboca to open their own publishing house in
order to pass on their botanical knowledge, and in 2016 they
invested in an educational project – “Arte Orto” – based on all
of the cultural expressions of nature.
