• Seatbelts
The buses are equipped with seatbelts for all the children. All children must wear the seatbelts at all times
and they must be pulled tight. It is the task of the bus attendant to check whether the children are wearing
the seatbelts correctly. The parents are requested to see to it that their child(ren) put on the seatbelt in the
morning. On leaving the school this is checked by the supervisor of Comfort.
Comfort will inform the school about children who do not want to wear their seatbelts. These children will
be cautioned by the school. Repetition of this behaviour can result in a temporary denial of the bus
transport; the parents will be informed.
• Bus card
All the children from Jip and Janneke and group 1, 2 and 3 of the primary school must wear their bus card
every day. This card, with the particulars of the child, will be handed out at the beginning of the school
year.
If something changes in the bus transport of your child for one day, you have to put a white card in the
cover of the bus card giving the new information in English. (date, name of friend and bus number or the
date of the club bus, or the date NO bus).
When children from Jip & Janneke do not have the bus card with them, we assume that the parents will
pick up the children themselves.
For children from group 1, 2, and 3 “no white card and no bus card” means children go home in their own
bus.
Fortunately it happens only rarely, but in case of a breakdown or an accident, all children must remain in the
bus, until replacement transport has been arranged. Parents can only pick up their own child from the place
where the bus broke down or had an accident.
In case of an emergency: contact the school (administration or management) (6466 0662 / 6468 8446).
Routes
Working out the routes is done by Comfort management, so not by the school and not by the drivers. In case of
questions/remarks you can contact Comfort Management ( wilson@comfortbus.com.sg ) or the bus committee
(buscie@hotmail.com) of the HSL.
Questions, complaints or remarks
The bus committee of the HSL has been set up to optimize the bus transport, as is now being provided by
Comfort. Every month the bus committee has a meeting with Comfort to discuss all the current issues.
Questions, remarks or complaints about the bus transport can be emailed to the bus committee at:
buscie@hotmail.com. Kindly do so in English.
Changes in your contract with Comfort, moves or questions about payments must be faxed (Wilson-64560922)
or emailed to Comfort (wilson@comfortbus.com.sg ).
If you have complaints about children in the bus, please contact the principal of the HSL, Peter Wassink.
Discipline/behavioural rules in the bus
In the contract between HSL and Comfort, rules have been set up about the behaviour of children in the bus.
Children who do not obey these rules will get a warning from the school. At a second warning the parents are
informed. A third warning can result in temporary denial of the bus transport.
A common problem is that some children treat the bus attendants disrespectfully. It is important to inform your
children about the task of the attendant, being maintaining the discipline and the safety in the bus.
In case of any issues, we request you kindly to contact the principal of the HSL, Peter Wassink. All the
information will be dealt with confidentially.
