Soulful design
Seal skins were once essential
for survival – today they
are an expression of the
good life. This is what designer
Else Lennert says. She
grew up in Sisimiut together
with eight brothers and
sisters. Her father made a
living as a hunter next to his
office job and her mother
sewed clothes for the whole
family out of the sealskins
her hunter father provided.
It was here that the first
seeds of Else Lennert’s
interest for design were
sown. After working as a
nursing assistent for several
years she finally gave in and
in 1997 she started at the
Design School in Copenhagen.
Since then she has
been very busy with fashion
shows at home and abroad.
The most recent was this
autumn where she presented
her creations at a large
fashion fair in Saint Petersborg.
