Welcome to Northern Ireland.
This Guide is intended to help you understand the rights and entitlements you have while
in Northern Ireland, as a person who came to Northern Ireland under the *Vulnerable
Persons Relocation Scheme* (VPR scheme). It also aims to ensure that, if you encounter
any problems in accessing those rights and entitlements, you receive the right advice.
It covers a broad range of issues that are likely to affect you and your family in Northern
Ireland.
At the end of the Guide, you will find a list of advice and support agencies that can help if
you need more information or advice or if you experience any problems.
You do not need to read the Guide from cover to cover. Please keep it and use the
relevant chapters when you need them.

You can also show the Guide to your adviser, support worker, or service provider.
This Guide is useful for groups and individuals who provide services to, help or advise
people granted humanitarian protection under the VPR scheme in Northern Ireland.
Who wrote the Guide?
The Guide has been produced by Law Centre (NI) and the Northern Ireland Human Rights
Commission, with funding from the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister,
and help from Housing Rights and Belfast City Council. Law Centre (NI) and Northern Ireland
Human Rights Commission have agreed the information contained in the Guide.
