new dry snacks for Economy<br />
passengers on domestic flights<br />
and short international flights.<br />
The new snacks will be served<br />
on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh<br />

from 8.30am to 10.30am,<br />
1.30pm to 5pm, 8pm to 5am),<br />
and from Hanoi to Phu Quoc/<br />
Can Tho/Nha Trang/Da Lat/<br />
Buon Me Thuot/Quy Nhon/Tuy<br />
Hoa/Pleiku, from Ho Chi Minh<br />
City to Hai Phong/Vinh/Thanh<br />
Hoa, as well as from Hanoi to<br />
Luang Prabang (Laos)/Siem Riep<br />
(Cambodia).<br />
YEN TU SPRING FESTIVAL<br />
The Yen Tu Spring Festival<br />
kicked off on 25 Feburary or the<br />
10th day of the Lunar New Year<br />
at Truc Lam Yen Tu Cultural<br />
Center, Quang Ninh Province.<br />
The festival is an important<br />
cultural event for Vietnamese<br />
as visitors flocked to the festival<br />
since dawn, and were willing to<br />
queue up in a long line at the<br />
cable station. Visitors can now<br />
stay over night at the Yen Tu<br />
Relic Site. The newly open Truc<br />
Lam Yen Tu Cultural Center is<br />
expected to boost tourism in<br />
Yen Tu this year.<br />
HANOI<br />
The Hanoi authorities and the<br />
Embassy of Japan in Vietnam are<br />
together organizing a number<br />
of cultural activities during<br />
the Japan Cultural Exchange<br />
Festival from March 23-26<br />
on the occasion of the 45th<br />
anniversary of the establishment<br />
of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic<br />
relations. Festival goers will<br />
get to enjoy beautiful flowers<br />
grown in the two countries. It is<br />
expected that about 30 cherry<br />
blossom trees and 10,000<br />
cherry blossom branches as<br />
well as bonsai trees and typical<br />
flowers of Vietnam and Hanoi<br />
will be displayed at the Ly Thai<br />
To Memorial Garden.<br />
SUN GROUP<br />
The Sun Group has set up 5<br />
tourist information booths<br />
shaped like old Volkswagen<br />
cars in Danang for visitors. The<br />
booths are installed on the<br />
west side of Tran Hung Dao<br />
Street to the north side of the<br />
Dragon Bridge, the east side of<br />
Vo Nguyen Giap Street near<br />
East Sea Park, the east side of<br />
Vo Nguyen Giap Street near<br />
Vo Nguyen Giap - Vo Van Kiet<br />
intersection, the east side of<br />
Vo Nguyen Giap Street near<br />
Vo Nguyen Giap - Nguyen Van<br />
Thoai intersection, and the east<br />
side of Bach Dang Street to the<br />
north of the Dragon Bridge.<br />
The information booths are<br />
expected to launch beginning<br />
March 12.<br />
<strong>2018</strong> MOUNTAIN-EBONY<br />
TREE FESTIVAL<br />
The <strong>2018</strong> Mountain-enony<br />
Festival will be officially<br />
launched on March 17 in Dien<br />
Bien Phu City, Dien Bien<br />
Province. This is an annual<br />
cultural event of Dien Bien<br />
Province, which is held in the<br />
mountain-ebony season after<br />
the Lunar New Year. The<br />
festival aims to promote nature,<br />
culture, and local people to<br />
domestic and international<br />
visitors.<br />
PHU QUOC<br />
The authorities in Phu Quoc<br />
Island, Kien Giang Province, and<br />
the Sun Group have officially<br />
launched the 7,900m-long cable<br />
car that connects An Thoi<br />
Town with Hon Thom Island<br />
- the largest island of An Thoi<br />
Islands. The cable car, which is<br />
expected to promote economic<br />
and tourism development in<br />
the south of Phu Quoc Island,<br />
takes visitors only 15 minutes<br />
to travel from An Thoi to Hon<br />
Thom instead of 30 minutes<br />
on a speedboat. Wifi and<br />
electric lights are available in all<br />
cabins. Tickets for adults and<br />
children over 130cm height<br />
are VND500,000/person, for<br />
children under 130cm and over<br />
100cm VND350,000/person,<br />
and free for children under<br />
100cm height.<br />
SINGAPORE AIRLINES<br />
Singapore Airlines (SIA) is<br />
launching a new connecting<br />
flight between Singapore,<br />
Melbourne (Australia) and<br />
Wellington (New Zealand). The<br />
new route is part of the ongoing<br />
restructuring of the Singapore-<br />
Canberra-Wellington route, in<br />
which the Canberra-Wellington<br />
route will be terminated, and<br />
daily flights to Canberra from<br />
Singapore are expected to<br />
increase instead of the current<br />
four flights per week. The<br />
new Singapore-Melbourne-<br />
Wellington route will operate<br />
4 times a week under the flight<br />
number SQ247 starting May<br />
3. The reverse flight is coded<br />
SQ248. Starting May 1, SIA will<br />
also launch a new daily flight<br />
to Canberra via Sydney. The<br />
flight number SQ288 will fly to<br />
Singapore-Sydney-Canberra.<br />
The reverse flight coded SQ288<br />
will fly directly from Canberra<br />
to Singapore.<br />
FANSIPAN SKY SPRING<br />
FESTIVAL<br />
Fansipan Sky Spring Festival<br />
will be held from February 24<br />
to May 14. Visitors will get to<br />
enjoy thousands of colorful<br />
flowers in the rhythmic music<br />
of H'mong musical instruments<br />
with many folk games and<br />
delicous highland cuisine during<br />
the spring festival that takes<br />
place at Sun World Fansipan<br />
Legend.<br />

The authorities in Da Nang have recently launched a list of cultural activities to be held on the banks of Han<br />
River in celebration of <strong>2018</strong>. Regular activities from street dance, to b‡i chÚi singing, to folk traditional musical<br />
performances will take place monthly on the weekends on either Tran Hung Dao Street or at the park west of<br />
the Dragon Bridge. Many other special events such as the <strong>2018</strong> Danang International Fireworks Festival (from<br />
April 30 to June 30), World Performing Arts Festival (from July 1-7), and Culinary Festival will be featured.<br />
