Erneuerbare Energien, Smart Grids, Telekommunikation,
effizienter Einsatz von Energien
und Mobilität sind Kernstücke der Idee hinter
den Städten der Zukunft, den smart cities. Bis
die Städte der zukunft Wirklichkeit werden liegt
noch viel Arbeit vor Forschern, Stadtplanern
und Politikern. Wie sehen die nächsten Schritte
auf dem Weg zu intelligenten Städten aus?

Renewable energy forms, smart grids, telecommunications,
the efficient use of energy and
mobility are core elements of the idea behind
the cities of the future. A lot work lies ahead
for researchers, urban planners and politicians
before the cities of the future become a reality.

Daphne Frankl-Templ ist seit September 2012 Koordinatorin
für Elektromobilität im Bundesministerium für Verkehr, Innovation
und Technologie. Sie studierte Rechtswissenschaften
an der Universität Wien und besuchte danach den postgradualen
Lehrgang für politische Öffentlichkeitsarbeit der Universität
Wien. Von 2005 bis 2008 arbeitete sie in verschiedenen
Rechtsanwaltskanzleien. Danach war sie als parlamentarische
Mitarbeiterin des liberalen Forums, Trainee bei der österreichischen
Industriellenvereinigung und für die Siemens AG Österreich
tätig.
Daphne Frankl-Templ has been the coordinator of electromobility
at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology
since September 2009. She studied law and attended a
postgraduate program for political public relations work at the
University of Vienna. Frankl-Templ worked for different legal
firms from 2005 to 2008 before becoming a parliamentary staff
member of the Liberales Forum political party. She was also a
trainee at the Federation of Austrian Industries and also worked
for Siemens AG Austria.

Roman Bartha ist seit 2009 Leiter Elektromobilität bei Siemens
AG Österreich und war parallel über 3 Jahre Geschäftsführer
der Austrian Mobile Power. Seine Berufslaufbahn begann er bei
Siemens 1992 als Vertriebsingenieur für Gas- und Dampfturbinen
und war dann unter anderem auch Gesamtprojektleiter für
das GUD-Kraftwerk Donaustadt in Wien. Zuletzt war Roman
Bartha als Division Head für das fossile Kraftwerksgeschäft im
CEE-Raum tätig.
Im Zuge der Megatrends Entkarbonisierung und Effizienzerhöhung
ist die vollständige Elektrifizierung das Rückgrat unseres
zukünftigen Energiesystems. Im Rahmen dieser Trends und
der Verknappung fossiler Energieressourcen wird die Elektromobilität
ein wesentlicher Baustein, welcher auch den Individualverkehr
in den nächsten Jahren massiv verändern wird.
Roman Bartha has been the head of electromobility at Siemens
AG Austria since 2009 and was also the managing director of
Austrian Mobile Power for three years at the same time. He
began his professional career at Siemens in 1992 as a sales
engineer for gas and steam turbines and was also the overall
project manager for the GUD Donaustadt power plant in Vienna.
Roman Bartha’s last position was as Division Head for the
fossil power plant business sector in the CEE region.
Complete electrification is poised to become the backbone of
our future energy system as part of the megatrends towards
decarbonization and the need for improved efficiency. Within
the framework of these trends and the shortage of fossil fuel
resources electromobility shall be an important building block
that shall cause massive changes to personal transport in the
coming years.

Manfred Moormann ist als Abteilungsleiter im Marketing von A1
für die Produkte im Öffentlichen Sektor und im Gesundheitsbereich
verantwortlich sowie für Beziehungen zu Produkt- bzw. Vertriebs-Partner
der A1 (Public Sector, Healthcare & Partnermanagement).
Aufgaben vor dieser Tätigkeit waren u. a. Konzernstrategie
und Aufbau des Fernsehgeschäfts der A1 bzw. Telekom Austria.
Er hat ein Studium „Technische Physik“ an der TU Wien absolviert
(Dipl.-Ing.) und ein Studium „General Management“ an der
Donauuniversität Krems in Kooperation mit der TU Wien (MBA).
Smart Cities haben Menschen als Einwohner, die nicht gläsern
sind, und punkten mit nachhaltigen Konzepten, die alle
Lebensbereiche betreffen: Verkehr, Ver- und Entsorgung, Bildung
und Unterhaltung, Medien, Demokratie, Gesundheitsversorgung
und vieles mehr. Ein wesentliche Rückgrat von
Smart Cities, sind sichere, professionell gemanagte Informationsleitungen
und -knoten mit ausreichender Kapazität.
Manfred Moormann is the A1 marketing director for products in
the public and health sector. He is also responsible for relationships
to A1 product and sales partners (Public Sector, Healthcare
& Partner Management). His duties before he assumed these
responsibilities were group strategy and the building up of the
company’s television business, among others. He has a degree
in technical physics from the TU Vienna and also studied “General
Management” at the Krems Danube University in cooperation
with the TU Vienna.
Smart cities have inhabitants that are not transparent and
offer benefits in the form of sustainable concepts that affect
all aspects of life: transport, supply and disposal, education
and entertainment, media, democracy, healthcare and much
more. One of the mainstays of smart cities are safe, professionally
managed information lines and nodes with sufficient
capacities.
