Geboten wird Fahrspaß pur bei vorbildlicher Effizienz. Der
Neuling ist damit maßgeschneidert für das Lebensgefühl
einer Kundengruppe im Alter zwischen 35 und 45 Jahren,
die beruflichen Erfolg mit Lebensfreude und hohem Verantwortungsbewusstsein
verbindet.
„Mit dieser Erweiterung des C-Klasse-Portfolios richten
wir uns ganz bewusst auch an neue Kunden“, sagt Heidl.
„Dieses Modell hat uns wirklich noch gefehlt. Damit machen
wir ein Angebot zu einem besonders sportlichen Einstieg
in die Coupé-Welt von Mercedes-Benz.“ Wer es noch etwas
schärfer mag, für den steht das Sport-Paket AMG bereit.
Neben dem um 15 Millimeter tiefer gelegten Sportfahrwerk
und Frontschürze, Seitenschwellerverkleidungen sowie Heckschürze
im AMG Styling gehören dazu das unten abgeflachte
Drei-Speichen-Multifunktions-Sportlenkrad und AMG-Leichtmetallräder
im Format 18 im Sieben-Speichen-Design. Feine
Details wie Sportpedalauflagen aus gebürstetem Edelstahl
mit Gumminoppen, gelochte Bremsscheiben vorn, Bremssättel
mit Schriftzug „Mercedes-Benz“ sowie Endrohrblende
in Edelstahl poliert sorgen für mehr Individualität und erhöhen
den Fahrspaß.
„Und diesen Genuss gibt es ohne Reue“, freut sich Heidl.
Denn die drei Benzinmotoren und zwei Dieselaggregate sind
so kraftvoll wie sparsam und allesamt Direkteinspritzer. •

Andreas Heidl begins to rhapsodise: “Just relax and let
the interior of the Coupé work its magic on you – don’t
you think it has a really stylish lounge ambience?” Especially,
of course, in the exciting colour combination that comes
with the Edition 1 model offered exclusively at market launch
(see the pictures on the previous pages): ARTICO man-made
leather with contrasting decorative stitching on the seats, a
two-tone black/porcelain three-spoke multifunction sports

steering wheel, all complemented by piano-lacquer look trim,
also in porcelain. Indeed: we could almost be in an espresso
bar. Heidl: “The appearance of a Mercedes-Benz should never
be blatant; but certainly distinctive – like the style of the
new Coupé.”
The expressive C-Class Coupé takes Mercedes-Benz into a
whole new market segment in this, the company’s 125th anniversary
year, as its first ever compact, classic coupé. This
youthfully sporty two-door model will be rolling out to customers
from June. The new model takes the progressive technology
of the recently introduced current C-Class generation
and reclothes it as a dynamic Coupé offering pure driving enjoyment
along with exemplary efficiency. The new arrival is
thus tailor-made to match the approach to life of a customer
group, aged between 35 and 45, who combine successful careers
with a zest for life and a high sense of responsibility.
“We are very consciously targeting new customers with
this extension to the C-Class portfolio”, says Heidl. “This is a
model that was really missing in our range, but now we are
able to offer a particularly sporty way into the world of Mercedes-Benz
coupés.” And if anyone wants to take things a bit
further, there is always the AMG Sports package. Along with
a sports suspension lowered by 15 millimetres, and front
apron, side sill panels and a rear apron with AMG bodystyling,
this includes a three-spoke multifunction sports steering
wheel with a flattened bottom edge and 18-inch AMG light-alloy
wheels in a seven-spoke design. Further details, such as
sports pedal covers in brushed stainless steel with rubber
studs, perforated front brake discs, brake callipers with
“Mercedes-Benz” lettering, and polished stainless steel tailpipes,
all add to the sense of individuality, whilst also enhancing
driving enjoyment.
“And this is enjoyment without a guilty conscience”, Heidl
is pleased to report. For all three petrol and two diesel engines
are as powerful as they are economical, and all of them
feature direct injection. •
