Such a network may beestablished through the cooperationof reliable partners, or it may beoperated independently by a majorlogistics company, such as APLLogistics, in cooperation withselected partner companies.For example, APL Logistics nowhas 5 branches in India, and 7CFS/Distribution Centres providing15,793 sqm (170,000 sq. ft).The warehousing capacities offeredby APL Logistics in India are locatedin all those strategically importanthubs around the country that areof significance for the textile sector,the retail trade, as well as the hightechand automotive industries.The APL Logistics Network modelin India also demonstrates clearlythat a flexible network allows forsuccessful solutions in the event ofunforeseen occurrences. A case inpoint is APL Logistics’ use of aspecially developed NetworkManagement Program in the eventof strikes or other cargo handlingproblems in ports.
