First Aid
Do you have an appropriately trained workforce? Would you or one of your team know what to do
in an emergency? First Aid doesn’t take long to learn but can help to save lives. Our First Aid
courses are approved by the national Health and Safety Executive (HSE). All courses comply with new HSE guidelines.
All courses are delivered at Turf Lane Lifelong Learning Centre and are available throughout the year. Fees quoted are for

Courses with a qualification
Fees include examination/accreditation costs where applicable.
First aid at work certificate
This 3 day course is usually taken by people in employment who require a first aid qualification. It is valid for 3 years. You
must complete a 2 day requalification course at the end of year 3. The fee includes the course book. Under the HSE
regulations this allows you to be a first aider in the workplace.

Emergency first aid at work
This one day course enables people to take the first steps to deal with illness or a medical emergency in the workplace.
You will be assessed throughout the course. The fee includes the course book. Under HSE regulations this allows you to
be an emergency first aider in the workplace.

First aid at work certificate requalification
This course requalifies those with a First aid at work certificate. You must have a current first aid at work certificate that is
nearly 3 years old and is due to expire. This 2 day course updates the full certificate and requalifies you as a First aider for
another 3 years. Production of your current First Aid at Work certificate will be required before you can enrol on
this course.
