ince its inception, Yad Vashem has gathered a collection of re-<br />
Smarkable and authentic documents: hundreds of photographs of<br />
children from the Holocaust period have been collected in the archives<br />
of Yad Vashem. Little is known about the children in these photos,<br />
occasionally only their names, the name of the city they came from.<br />
But on most appears the simple notation: „no information”. The Children<br />
of The Jews is a personal journey and observation of these old photos.<br />
The first half of the film describes the pre-war life of children utilizing<br />
portraits from family albums. Many of the photographs from the war<br />
period were by the Nazis. The clothing, the appearance, the situation<br />
show these children as marked and ostracized. Based entirely upon<br />
photographs of hundreds of children from different countries.<br />

jegyzet látható: „nincs információ”. A film e régi képeken látható személyek<br />
sorsát kutatja. A film elején a gyermekek háború elõtti élete tárul<br />
elénk. A háborús idõszakból bemutatott képek többségét a nácik készítették.<br />
Ruháikból, arckifejezésükbõl, helyzetükbõl nyilvánvaló: a gyermekek<br />
pusztulásra ítéltettek, kitaszíttattak. A film teljes egészében a<br />
különbözõ országokból származó gyermekek százainak fényképfelvételein<br />
alapul, fokozatosan felépítve a zsidó gyerekek sajátos profilját.<br />
Vicki SHIRAN • She was born in Cairo (1947). Director, script-writer,<br />
producer. The film „PILLAR OF SALT”, for which she wrote the script<br />
received the UNESCO prize in the International Film Festival for children<br />
and youth in Munich, Germany (1982) and the Israeli Oscar<br />
(1982). „THE CHILDREN OF THE JEWS” is her first film as a director.<br />
The film participated in the Jerusalem International Film Festival<br />
(1999) and in the Flagstaff International Film Festival (indi films)<br />
(USA) received a Gold award.<br />

Oin North Africa. During the colonial era, it enchanted western<br />
countries through literature, art and cinema.<br />
This documentary is based on the idea of intermingling influences<br />
from East and West. It is illustrated by shows, interviews and many<br />
archive films. It ends with a presentation of new forms of oriental<br />
dance, resulting from creations by contemporary choreographers.<br />
