Determination of specific density
Determination the specific density of
ash and slag was done in the glass Pycnometer.
Calculation
Specific density of samples is calculated
by the following formula:
m2 − m1
⎛ kg ⎞
ρ =
ρ t
F'
⎜ ⎟
( m − ) − ( − ) ⎝ 3
m ⎠
Where is:
m1 - mass of empty Pycnometer, (kg)
m2 - mass of Pycnometer with sample,
(kg)
m3 - weight of Pycnometer with sample
and water, (kg)
m4 – mass of Pycnometer with water,
(kg)
t ρ F - density of fluid (water) at the
temperature of measurement, (kg/m 3 )
Specific density of ash samples are
given in Table 3
Determination of pH value in the solution
of ash and slag
Determination the pH of the solution of
ash and slag samples was carried out using
the Standard methods (SRPS EN 12176
2005).
Because they are the solid raw materials
- ash and clay, the principle of this
method is formation of the corresponding
aqueous suspensions and potentiometric
method for determination the pH value.
Results of measured pH values are
shown in Table 4.
