After staging the fundraising event calculate:<br />

w profit<br />

Students make comparisons between their budget<br />

predictions and the actual final balance.<br />

• "How could we have reduced expenses?"<br />

• "How could we have generated more income?"<br />

Undertake an evaluation of the fundraising<br />

activity using a simple evaluation technique<br />

such as EDI:<br />

w What was Effective?<br />

w What will we Do more of next time?<br />

w What Improvements could be made?<br />

Using a T Chart compare:<br />

How was our fundraising activity the same and<br />

different to running a real business?<br />

Consider how the funds have made a difference<br />

to the charity.<br />

Students could identify:<br />

Prepare a large graffiti wall with markers nearby<br />

<strong>for</strong> groups to record responses.<br />

Record student responses addressing how expenses<br />

could have been reduced.<br />

Record student responses addressing how income<br />

could have been increased.<br />

Compare the students' budget prepared<br />

be<strong>for</strong>e the event with the actual final<br />

balance produced after the event<br />
