The day of Anagran celebrates the Av. Anaghra Raocha, Endless Light. Special prayers from the<br />

Khorda Avesta are recited in honor of the day’s spiritual being.<br />

Activity for the day from the Counsels of Adhurbadh, Son of Mahraspand: “(148) On the day of<br />

Anagran (the Endless Light) trim your hair and nails and take your wife to bed so that an exceptional<br />

child may be born (to you).” Adarbad Mahraspandan was a famous saint, high priest, and prime<br />

minister of Shapur II (309-379 C.E.).<br />
