English name:
Local name: Aaderi.
Description:
A perennial much branched erect dull green or pinkish purple herb. Leaves fleshy rounded
and elongated, sub-cylindrical, usually bi-foliate. Stem much branched bearing pale yellow
flowers. Fruit narrow and oblong.
Flowering Period:
June to September.
Habitat:
Most commonly found on sandy and gravelly soils.
Uses:
The seeds are said to be anthelmintic used as diuretic,
antipyretic and local anesthetic.
Distribution:
Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Palestine, Egypt,
Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
