Description:
A tussocky perennial erect grass, the tufts often connected by stolons; leaves
usually short and stiff; flowering stem 15-80 cm high.
Flowering Period:
August to November.
Habitat:
It is a plant of saline or alkaline grass-lands, sea-shore sands and sandy patches in
mangrove swamps rarely observed on stony soil.
Uses:
Grazed by livestock at early stage but occasionally.
Distribution:
Sandy areas of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Central and
East Africa to Sri Lanka.
