Description:
A loosely tufted annual 8-70 cm high, erect or ascending, spikelets 4-14 flowered,
Inflorescence a panicle, fertile spikelet pedicellate, pedicels glandular.
Flowering Period:
July to October.
Habitat:
Abundant after monsoon rains on a variety of soils ranging from gravelly, sandy to
clayey soils.
Uses:
Hairy or India Lovegrass is considered to be good
fodder.
Distribution:
Pakistan, Tropical and warm temperate regions of the
old world, introduced to the new world.
