Description:
An erect, stout, up to 80 cm tall, evergreen dwarf shrub, glabrous or puberulous on
midrib beneath. Leaves leathery elongated variable in size and shape spirally
arranged on the stem. Flowers small about 3 mm across, star-like white in colour
arranged on terminal and axillary cymes.
Flowering Period:
December to March.
Habitat:
Grows on sandy and stony grounds.
Uses:
Agood soil-binder. Medicinally leaves are used in the
treatment of cancer. Juice is used for skin eruptions, sore
throat, and fever, also very effective to remove debility.
The juice of the leaves is given with milk to children for
eruption and an infusion.
Distribution:
Arabia, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
