English name: Tuberous bulrushes.<br />

Local name: Cheho.<br />

Description:<br />

A perennial erect semiaquatic herb of about 20-30 cm in height, rhizomes creeping<br />

or with stolons ending with tubers, inflorescence mostly branched multiple spikes,<br />

dark brown to pale yellow in color.<br />

Flowering Period:<br />

(February-) September (-October).<br />

Habitat:<br />

Semiaquatic, found mostly near fresh to brackish water<br />

bodies.<br />

Uses:<br />

Use as fodder for livestock.<br />

Distribution:<br />

Senegal and SouthAfrica to Pakistan.<br />
