Description:
Fragile tufted annual grass, 6-50 cm tall, erect or geniculately ascending,
Inflorescence a panicle, spikelets minute, green to purple, in dense panicles.
Flowering Period:
March to September.
Habitat:
Moist and shady places, mostly near cultivated areas.
Uses:
It is eaten by cattle both fresh and dry. The grain is said
to be very nutritious.
Distribution:
Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Tropical Africa, throughout
the Tropics.
