Description:
An aquatic or semi-aquatic rhizomatous perennial salt tolerant plant; flowering stem
about 60-150 cm high, rooting and branching from the lower nodes, spikes green or
grey-tinged.
Flowering Period:
March to November.
Habitat:
Halophytic. Common in saline and waterlogged areas.
Uses:
Buffaloes are very fond of this grass.
Distribution:
Pakistan; Tropical and Sub-tropical regions of the old
world and Australia.
