In addition to all the work prescribed at para 601 C above, the following work<br />
is also to be done in ROH/POH :-<br />
a. The bogie should be dismantled. Dismantling and assembly procedure is given<br />
in para e. The bogie clearances and tolerances should be checked and rectified,<br />
if found necessary.<br />
b. Position the job for down hand welding and carry out the repairs. Ensure that<br />
suitable manipulators are used.<br />
c. After the repairs the repaired surface should be checked with relevant gauge<br />
for correctness. Excess material, if any, should be removed by grinding or<br />
machining.<br />
d. All the wearing surfaces of bogie shall be brought to “As New” condition.<br />
e. Assembly and disassembly of the bogie<br />
I. DISASSEMBLY<br />
Disconnect bogie brake rigging attachment to underframe and brake<br />
gear and raise car body. Run out the bogie.<br />
Inset assembly pin (12mm dia x 250 mm long) to retain friction shoes.<br />
Raise bolster to connect top member of side frame.<br />
Remove outer, inner and snubber springs.<br />
Remove assembly pins and lower wedge blocks to take them out.<br />
Lower bolster to rest on the spring plank.<br />
Slide the bolster to one side to take it out.<br />
Take out the key from side frame to release the wheel sets.<br />
Take out the side frames and spring plank assembly.<br />
Remove the adapter retainer bolt to release the adapter.<br />
II. ASSEMBLY<br />
Re-assemble the bogie by re-raising the procedure as above.<br />
Important: Inspect all the load and snubber springs for proper seating<br />
after wagon body is on bogies.
