605 C. PROCEDURE FOR MANUFACTURE, REPAIR, TESTING & INSPECTION<br />

OF SPRINGS IN THE WORKSHOP<br />

a. The correct procedure for manufacture of laminated bearing springs has been<br />

prescribed in Board’s letter No: 76//M(W)/814/43 dated 12.3.64 and 3.6.68<br />

RDSO letter no: M&C/STC/2/1 dated 26.3.75 and MW/II/Springs dated<br />

18.7.77 (approved V, and IRS specification RS-68). The pamphlet<br />

“Laminated bearing spring failures- description classification and reporting”<br />

issued by RDSO in 1969, with a corrigendum in 1972, contains useful<br />

information on the subject and should be consulted.
