Type genus: Ficus Röding, 1798
Remarks; -oidea, R Riedel (1995a: 457). Although
Meek did not state explicitly his reasons
for establishing the name Ficidae, he
used it in place of Pyrulidae, based on Pyru-
la Lamarck, 1799. Ficidae is now in prevail-
ing usage and it is conserved under Art. 40.2,
with the precedence of Pyrulidae.

over Triptychiinae is determined automati-
cally by Art. 24.
