Congo Pink"). Stem 5-7 cm X 20-30 mm, subfusiform or thicker<br />

below with pointed,often curved base, solid, whitish, with age fulvous<br />

(L. g 6) at base, firm, naked or with argillaceous scales below<br />

(remnants of the universal veil) , but without any distinct lower<br />

ring. R i n g peronate, white, thin, and often ruptured, with partly<br />

fluted upper side, without scales on the underside. F l e s h thick<br />

and firm, white, bright rose colour ("Vinaceous-Pink") when cut.<br />

S m e Il fishy, stinking. S c h af f e r r e a c t i o n negative. S p o r e<br />

p o w d e r brownish black ("Bone Brown"; L. c 3; S. 117).<br />

S p o r e s roundish, with large gutta, 5.5-7(-8) X 4.5-5.5<br />

(-6) p. Basidia mostly 4-spored, c1avate, 26-36 X 7-10 p.<br />

Sterigmata 5p long. Cystidia on sterile gill edge numerous,<br />

fusiform to clavate, often flexuose, hyaline, 30-64 X 6-20 p.
