Reminiscent of Psalliota cwpreo-brumnea, but the colour of the<br />

cap is more dirty, and the spores have a differentshape.<br />

D i a g n o s i s. Pileus 4--:...-6 cm, ex hemisphaerico convexo-explanatus,<br />

porphyreus, in mediosubfuscus, omnino radiatim obscure fibrilloso-striatus<br />

et plus minusve fusco-squamulosus. LamelIae liberae,<br />

confertae, tenues, latae, in st at u explicationis laeteroseo-incarnatae,<br />

demum fuseae, acie fertili. Stipes 3-5 cm X 15-20 mm , ventricosus<br />

vel subconicus, faretus. dein fistulosus, albus, sed ad basim dilute<br />

porphyreus, supra annulum levis, infra plus minusve floccoso-fibrillosus.<br />

Annulus superus, albus, tenuis, angustus, saepe evanidus,<br />

supra striatus, simplex. Caro alba, fracta in stipite et sub cuticula<br />

pilei leviter incarnata. Odor debilis, acidulus ut in P. campestri.<br />

Sporae acervatim obscure umbrinae, vellivido-brunneae, ovoideae,<br />

1-3-guttulatae, 5-7 X 3.25-4.5 p. Basidia 4-sterigmaticå, clavata,<br />

20-34 X 6-8 p. Sterigmata 3-4 p longa. Cystidia aciei lamellarum<br />

nulla.<br />

Gregaria in pratis Daniae (FaIstria, Bornholmia). Autumno.<br />

Differt a P. cupreo-brunnea praecipue forma stipitis et sporis<br />

minoribus.<br />

D e s c r i p t i o n. P i l e u s 4-6 cm, semiglobate at first, then<br />

plano-convex, porphyry brown ("Purplish Vinaceous" with "Avellaneous"<br />

tinge) with darker centre, radially darkly fibrosely striate<br />

throughout and more or less darkly squamulose ("Fuscous"). G i Il s<br />

free, crowded, thin, broad, in the unfolding stage a vivid "campestris<br />

red" ("Vinaceous Pink"), at length blackish brown, with fertile<br />
