Curries are a major part of local cuisine (Figure 6.17). Curries are served with rice at lunch and dinner and with roshi as breakfast. There is a large variety of curries in Maldivian cuisine that are made from tubers, pumpkin, bread fruit (Figure 6.18) fish, meat and other vegetables and seafood.
