Further research and studies were recommended by the expert survey to identify the right ways to create these linkages and to promote local food use in the tourism industry as well as among potential tourists. Through such approaches, and with the data provided by this thesis as a starting point, it will be possible to begin the process of linking local food more effectively into the promotion and development of Maldives tourism. 164
