bearers, <strong>the</strong> members of <strong>the</strong> family, and <strong>the</strong> persons<br />

who accompanied <strong>the</strong> remains to <strong>the</strong> city.<br />

Five hundred seats were reserved in <strong>the</strong> center<br />

of <strong>the</strong> church for <strong>the</strong> family, pallbearers, friends,<br />

city officials, and organizations. After <strong>the</strong>se<br />

were occupied <strong>the</strong> remaining seats in <strong>the</strong> great<br />

audience room of <strong>the</strong> church were rapidly filled.<br />

The seating arrangements were in charge of Mr.<br />

Henry H. Pryor.<br />

In <strong>the</strong> pulpit were seated Rev. Dr. H. H.<br />

Stebbins of <strong>the</strong> Central Church, Rev. W C. Gannett<br />

of <strong>the</strong> First Unitarian Church, <strong>the</strong> Rev. Dr.<br />

W R. Taylor of <strong>the</strong> Brick Presbyterian Church,<br />

Rev. Dr. W A. Ely of Zion African M. E.<br />

Church, Rev. J. E. Mason of Zion A. M. E.<br />

Church, Miss Mary S. Anthony, Superintendent<br />
