If the players are interested in having their Twists reflect their innernatures<br />

but don’t like our selection of abilities then it may be permissible<br />

to simply take the abilities you want and then write in what about your<br />

character prompted that mutation.<br />

Buying Twisted Abilities<br />

Twisted abilities have a cost (in Twisted Points), a description of how they<br />

work in game terms, and a Trait which is the personality aspect that causes<br />

you to evidence it. When the ability does damage, you will use the charts<br />

below to determine what that damage number and type is, based on your<br />

size (the theory being that the fire-breath of an elephant-sized dragon does<br />

more damage than the flame-breath of a mosquito).<br />

Making a Twisted Character<br />

Here are the rules for making a character with Twist (or “Twisting” an<br />

existing character).<br />

1. Choose the size of the character in their “Twisted form.” This gives a<br />

“basic” PHY for the character, meaning that if the character’s PHY is<br />

10 this is what the numbers will be when the character is “grown” or<br />

“shrunk.”<br />

If the character’s PHY is higher or lower than 10, this is how you<br />

compute your stats:<br />

STR is modified normally: a character with an STR of 9 and Size<br />

Big, the listed STR for Big is 15, but for this character, it’ll be 14.<br />

BLD is estimated. The size-class gives a range and the player can<br />

declare the character to be anywhere within that range. However:<br />

if the character is lighter than normal, the player should generally<br />

choose the lower range.<br />

DP as listed is modified as the character’s normal DP is. If the<br />

character has a 12 PHY (usually +4 DP: +2 for a 12 CON and +2<br />

for a 12 BLD) and has 4pts of Toughness (a total of 18 DP) then<br />

the character’s DP will be whatever the Size indicates +8.<br />

2. Twisted characters are tougher than normal. Each 2pts that are spent<br />

on Twists adds 1 DP automatically. This is in addition to any Twists<br />

that specifically add DP. A character with 16pts spent on Twists gets<br />

+8 DP, plus the additional DP caused by the Twist.<br />

3. Calculate damage for any HTH Combat Twists.<br />

1. Ranged Attacks are (usually) based on the size of the creature<br />

throwing them. In this case the damage and type is listed with<br />

the ability.<br />

2. Hand-to-Hand attacks are given a damage based on Size as well.<br />

This is the damage a character with a Normal PHY does with
