When checking and adjusting valve clearances the engine should be<br />
tumed to bring the respective pistons to T.D.C. on compression.<br />

With reference to the Cylinder Head Nuts, these should be re-checked<br />
with the engine hot.<br />
It will be appreciated that af ter overhaul or rectification work bas been<br />
carried out, there will be a settling period which will allowaslight<br />
variation on the figures quoted. This is not detrimental to the performance<br />
of the engine and there is no necessity to interfere with the settings.<br />
On no account should attempts be made to increase the torque already<br />
quoted by re-tightening with a torque spanner.<br />
