Assembie idler gear, pump housing and joint<br />

to body; secure by using setscrews with suitable<br />

distance pieces.<br />

Check that there is clearance between housing<br />

and gears.<br />

Place bottom cover joint on bottom face of<br />

housing and with a straight edge and feeier gauge,<br />

check tbe clearance between the straight edge and<br />

face of gears. This clearance should be .002 in.<br />

to .006 in. (.051 to . 152 mm). ft is important that<br />

this clearance does not exceed .006 in. (.152 mm)<br />

otherwise the pump output will be insufficient and<br />

the lubricating system adversely affected.<br />

New joints should be used when carrying Qut<br />

the above test.<br />

Remove setscrews, pump housing and idlef gear.<br />

Lubrication System - continued<br />

Using a suitable press, press the spiral driving<br />

gear on to tbe shaft. Tbe shaft end should be<br />

just level with the top face of the spiral gear.<br />

Assembie bousing, joints, idler gear and bottom<br />

cover to pump body, using new Sbakeproof wasbers<br />

for tbc secunng setscrews.<br />

RE-ASSEMBLING BOTrOM COVER CARE<br />

MUST BE TAKEN TO ENSURE THAT<br />

THE COVER IS ASSEMBLED WITH THE<br />

OIL RELlEF VALVE ON THE DELlVERY<br />

SIDE OF THE PUMP.<br />

Replace suction and delivery pipes and lock<br />

banjo balts with locking wire.<br />

Re-assemblc pump to enginc.<br />
