Dark brown, an orange band at base <strong>of</strong> abdomen, and two orange<br />

lrteral spots <strong>on</strong> pectus: primaries <strong>with</strong> a large spot <strong>with</strong>in cell, a<br />

rmaller oval spot below median nervure and between <strong>the</strong> first and<br />

sec<strong>on</strong>d branches, and an el<strong>on</strong>gate interno-median patch byaline<br />

white ; two bifid clisral spots, <strong>the</strong> upper <strong>on</strong>e cut by <strong>the</strong> subcostal fork,<br />

<strong>the</strong> lower by <strong>the</strong> third median brnnch ; sec<strong>on</strong>daries <strong>with</strong> a trifid (nearly<br />

central), hyaline white spot, resting up<strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> abdominal margin at<br />

its lower extremity : expnnse <strong>of</strong> wings 22 millims.<br />

This pretty little species differs from <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r two iu <strong>the</strong> genus<br />

in <strong>the</strong> angulated character <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> discocellular. It somewhat repeats<br />

<strong>the</strong> colour-charactertl <strong>of</strong> Syntomiu.<br />

Allied to Hydruea ; head small, antenna minutely serrated ;<br />

thorax and abdomen broad, <strong>the</strong> latter hairy beliiiid ; wing semi-<br />

hyaline, ncurati<strong>on</strong> almost as in xydruua. Type, P. duvazceelii.<br />

Body black, abdomen <strong>with</strong> a spot at base and <strong>the</strong> fifth segment orangeyellow<br />

; fr<strong>on</strong>t <strong>of</strong> pectus below testaceous : wiup greyish hyaline, <strong>the</strong><br />

veins, costoc, and bases brown ; extreme outer marginal edge black :<br />

expanse <strong>of</strong> wings 19 millims.<br />

There is a large example <strong>of</strong> what I take to be this species in<br />

Mr. Moore’s collecti<strong>on</strong> from Yciude ; it is in <strong>the</strong> collecti<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

British Museum, from Darjeeling, <strong>with</strong> Walker’s MS. name S.<br />

nigrita attached.<br />

The genus lbenia, Walker, placed by that author uext to Pui-<br />

~/iot&~ seeins closely allied to Prvcriu ; <strong>the</strong> antenuae are <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

same coiistructi<strong>on</strong>.
