bro<strong>the</strong>r lepidopterist R. H. Stretch, Esq., <strong>of</strong> San Francisco.<br />

Allied to H. rcintillans, bnt differing as follow^ :-all <strong>the</strong> yellow bands.<br />
spots, and o<strong>the</strong>r markings <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> body replaced by rusty-red <strong>on</strong>es,<br />
<strong>the</strong> basal segments <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> abdomen below sordid white; apical black<br />
patch <strong>on</strong> primaries narrower, and border <strong>of</strong> outer margin ra<strong>the</strong>r wider :<br />
expanse <strong>of</strong> wings 36 millims.<br />
