This species is <strong>the</strong> type <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> genus Erruca ; kocharis can<br />

scarcely be said to have a type ; I <strong>the</strong>refore prefer to c<strong>on</strong>sider L.<br />

stutta and allies as representing that genus.<br />

Although I do not intend to incorporate in <strong>the</strong> present paper<br />

all <strong>the</strong> new Zygaenidee described by Felder, but <strong>on</strong>ly those genera<br />

<strong>of</strong>which we possess representatives in <strong>the</strong> collecti<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> British<br />

Museum, I have been tempted to quote <strong>the</strong> above aa being a<br />

The genus Myrzecopsis has been c<strong>on</strong>founded by Dr. Herrich-<br />

Schiiffer <strong>with</strong> Psevdosphex ; it was not, however, founded up<strong>on</strong><br />

Hiibner’s type (which was P. rethue); it differs entirely in neurati<strong>on</strong><br />

from that insect and its allies, and must <strong>the</strong>refore be retained<br />

as distinct <strong>with</strong> Newman’s designati<strong>on</strong>. Herrich-SchUer<br />

had <strong>the</strong> acumen to see how entirely different <strong>the</strong> two types were ;<br />

but he took <strong>the</strong> type <strong>of</strong> Peeudosphex out <strong>of</strong> its genus and c<strong>on</strong>etituted<br />

for it his genus Abrodin j he appears to me, h<strong>on</strong>wer, to
