Genus ZYQ~EXA, Pabricius.<br />

Z. taqgamica <strong>of</strong> Walker has been rffrrred by IViilleiigrcn to his<br />

Arichalca e.rlythr.opy.qa. I will not attempt (<strong>with</strong> iny present sinnll<br />

Irnowledge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Zygziiinae) to cousider its right to be treatd<br />

as a distinct genus ; to all appearance it is a Zyqmnn. Procris c<strong>on</strong>-<br />

traria, Walker, is a Neurosymploca (Euctenia, Felder), and <strong>the</strong>re<br />

fore not (as Walker suggests) c<strong>on</strong>generic <strong>with</strong> 2. c<strong>on</strong>cinnn, Dal-<br />

man ; it is identical <strong>with</strong> “Zygana pectinicornis ’’ <strong>of</strong> Shaufuss.<br />

Genus PROCILIS, Pabricius.<br />

Zy,!gcena achar<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> Pabricius is refwuble to this gcuus ; Anzyclcs<br />

acharolz <strong>of</strong> Walker iiiny <strong>the</strong>refore talrc <strong>the</strong> name A. pficenicotelus.<br />

P. nebulosa, Klug (Lep. Hot. i. p. 110) is= P. nebzilosa, Herricli-<br />

SchiiEer (Lep. Het. vii. p. 1591).<br />

P. rujveiatris, Walker (11. ll), is not a Procris, but probably a<br />

new genus near Pollanisus.<br />

P. inj’austa, Linn., is a distinct genus (type <strong>of</strong> AgZaope, Lntr.),<br />

r- Staudinger, Cat. der Lep. 11. 44.<br />

P. si6bdO/oSit, Wnllwr, Siippl. 1). 68, is a Pol/nnis?~s.<br />

Genus SYNTOMIS, Ochsedeimer.<br />

I have no doubt whatever that S. Sclimnwri (sic), Boisduval,<br />

xiid 8. cyssen, Cramer (both described from Bengalese speciinnis)<br />

are identical. Crauier’s figure is, indeed, rough, but it presents<br />

all <strong>the</strong> importaut characters <strong>of</strong> Boisduval’s insect. Aiiioug <strong>the</strong><br />

specimens in <strong>the</strong> Nati<strong>on</strong>al collecti<strong>on</strong> I detected ail example <strong>of</strong> 8.<br />

bicincta, Kollar (letter c <strong>of</strong>‘ Walker), aud a third species (9, Ir,<br />

IValker) from Nepaul (8. lucina, Butl.). The examples referrcd<br />

to by Mr. Walker under 8. LatreiZZii, Boixd.,are referable to S.<br />

creusa, Linu. ; we, however, posscss Hoisduvnl’s species frorir<br />
