The genus Qymnelia, at3 above restricted, forms a very natural<br />

little group <strong>of</strong> bee-like species, all af <strong>the</strong>m cliaracterized (as to<br />

markings) by 8 broad black border to <strong>the</strong> wings and a broad black<br />

fascia or el<strong>on</strong>gated spot up<strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> discocellulars <strong>of</strong> primaries ; <strong>the</strong>y<br />

all have black bodies <strong>with</strong> metallic bluish lateral spots up<strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

abdomen ; and five out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> eix species have <strong>the</strong> anal aegments<br />

more or less tawny; <strong>the</strong>y have <strong>the</strong> discocellulara <strong>of</strong> primariex<br />

nearly in a straight line and transverse.<br />

* The recurrent nervure is represented in Pertfa Bgure ; so that this is apparently<br />

a vnrinble churacter.
