MESSAGE (ME) Using MESSAGE; in OS 2200 based LINC Systems Syntax Message Locations For OS 2200 based LINC Systems, the possible locations for a message destination are: $ The TIP terminal that initiated the transaction (Ispec). $ The TIP terminal attached to a Report (see the RUN; command for details about the significance of attached Reports). $ The PRINT$ file associated with the DEMAND terminal from which an unattached Report was submitted through @XQT. $ The PRINT$ file associated with the BATCH run from which an unattached Report was submitted through @XQT. $ An operator’s console, for a Report submitted from DEMAND or BATCH using @XQT,C. Avoiding the Loss of Messages On OS 2200 based LINC Systems, if a Report is coded with a large group of MESSAGE; commands one after the other, the network CMS queues them up. When the limit is reached, the messages are discarded and not sent to the user terminal. To avoid this problem, code a SLEEP; command between each MESSAGE; command.
