A war loan was a way of invsstlng in government stock
prmarily for the war effort. Such loans, some of which
are still outstanding, were gene~.ally at rather low rates
of intereat.
- This pension can bs paid to individuals Injured as a
result of a state of war or other designated mi lltary
action. Additional allowance that msy be paid with this
ere unemployability supplement, constant care allowance,
comforts allcwance, ● ducat ional allcwance, clothing
allcmance, exceptionally se~re disablement allowance.
This pension is paid to widcws whose husbands were killed
in either of the world wars. It maY alno be paid to
widcws of civilians who were killed in the second world
war. The pension is not normally ●ffected by other
income.
This is a meter Masuring the consumption of water. An
individual in charged for the smount of water uned rather
than paying for water through a ~neral water rate.
Thla is pazd to a widow when Widows Allm#ance ends (ie
after 7 months from huabsnd’s death), if the widow has a
dependent child under the age of 19. It 16 paid by
payment book weekly and is nub ject to the husband ha ung
met NI contribution requirements.
Widows Allowance is paid for the first 26 weeka after the
husband’s death if the woman was under 60 when the husband
died or he was not getting a Retirement Pennion when he
d~ed. The allowance is conditional on the husband hating
met NI contribution requirements. It is normally paid by
payment book.

Widma Pension is paid to a widow when Widm#s Allowance
ends, if the womsn wan 40 or owr when the husband died or
when Widovm Allowance ended, provided that there ie not a
dependent child under 19. The pension is subject to the
huab.md having met certain NI contribution conditions. It
ia normally paid Iq paymsnt bok.

has been registered as unemployed. The amount of subsidy
depends upon the wage paid. This is not a state benefit

Training can cower up to two years and takea place on the
job or at college or school.
