Statutoxy Sick Pay, N.1. Sickness Benefit and Q.53
Contributory Invalidity Pension
There are three sickness benefits amilable:
a) Statutory Sick Pay (SSP )
b) N.I. Sickness Benefit
c) contributory Inmlidity Pension
Statutory Sick Pay is paid through the employer. The benefit ia paid for a maximum
period of 28 weeks in a tax year.
N.1. Sickness Benefit is paid by the DHSS for a maximum period of 28 weeks.
Contributory Invalidity Pension is paid by the DHSS. The banefit is paid in the
29th week of sickness and there is no limit to the nunber of weeks it can be
recei vad.
