*26. SA I RE de QUI N CEY th e Surety, Earl of Winchester, born before
1154, died 3 November 1219, while on a crusade to Jerusalem, married Margaret
Beaumont, daugh ter of Robert Beaum ont.
*25. Roger de Quincey, second son, died 25 April 1264, married Hele n,
daught er of Alan MacDonal, Lord of Galloway and his first wife Ragnhild of the
Isles.
*24. E lizabeth Quincey married Alexander Comyn, 2nd Ea rl of Buchan,
died 1290, son of William Comyn and his wife Margar et, Counte ss of Buchan.
*23. Agnes Comyn married Mal ise, 6th Earl of Strathearn, born about 1257,
died aft er 28 January 1312/1 3.
*22. I sabella St rath earn married W illiam Sinclair, Lord of Roslin, died
shortly after 17 September 1358.
*21. H enry Sinclair (St. Clair ) , Earl of Strathern e, Orkney and Caithness,
and Lord of Zetland, was slain in 1404, having married Jean, dau ghter of Sir
W alter H alyburt on of Dirleton.
*20. Mary Sinclair married Sir Th omas de Somervi lle of Linton and Carnwath,
born about 1370, died December 1444, th e first Lord Somerville to attend
Parliament.
*19. W illiam, 2nd Lord of Somerville, died at Cowthally 20 August 1456,
married Janet, daughter of S ir John Mowat of Stenhouse.
*18. J ohn, 3rd Lord of Somerv ille, died in November 1491, mar ried first 10
J uly 1446 H elen, daughter of Sir Adam H epburn of H ailes.
*17. E lizabeth Somerville mar ried ( 17) Archibald Campbell, of Lochow,
Argyll, styled Master of Campbell, died before March 1440, who was descended
as follows:
26. RICHARD de CLAR E the Surety was 4th Ea rl of H ert ford , dying in
1217. H e married A micia Meullent, Countess of Gloucester.
25. GI LBE RT de CLARE the Surety, born about 1180, died 25 October
1230. H e marri ed Isabella, one of th e sisters of Will iam Marshall the Surety,
and daught er of William Ma rshall the Protector .
24. I sabel Clare, born 1226, married in Ma y 1240 Robert Bruc e, Lord of
