Model Comparisons to empirical date in a magnitude comparison task with a fixed<br />

standard<br />

In <strong>the</strong>ir recent study Moeller et al. (2009b, i.e., Study 1 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> current <strong>the</strong>sis) presented<br />

evidence that <strong>the</strong> existence <strong>of</strong> decomposed processing <strong>of</strong> tens and units is not limited to an<br />

external representation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> to-be-compared <strong>number</strong>s (cf. Zhang & Wang, 2005; Ganor-<br />

Stern, Pinhas, & Tzelgov, 2008). Instead, <strong>the</strong>ir results suggested that tens and units are<br />
