2.2.2 VPMS<br />
The microwave oven, produced by Microglass s.r.l.<br />
uses a Variable Power<br />
Microwave System (VPMS). While domestic microwave ovens use a time-slicing<br />
control system <strong>of</strong> the applied power.<br />
This last method enables the application<br />
always <strong>of</strong> the greatest power, but for time intervals proportional to the power<br />
selected by the user. For example, if a oven has a maximum power <strong>of</strong> 1000 W, <strong>and</strong><br />
if an operator chooses to use the oven with the 25% <strong>of</strong> the maximum power, the<br />
time-slicing device applies a power <strong>of</strong> 1000 W for the 25% <strong>of</strong> the selected time. A<br />
