Corallum very <strong>de</strong>nse, and not bearing columnar processes, as in <strong>the</strong> preceding genus.<br />

eight or ten systems, two or four <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> secondary septa being as much <strong>de</strong>veloped<br />

as <strong>the</strong> six primary ones. Walls thick and united, as in Stylocoeuia.<br />

Corallum glomerulate ; <strong>the</strong> corallites united by <strong>the</strong>ir walls, which are thick and<br />

compact; gemmation lateral and marginal. C«//ces subpolygonal. Cb/«?«e//a styliform, and<br />

not projecting much. A coronet <strong>of</strong> ]jali, corresponding to <strong>the</strong> septa <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ol<strong>de</strong>r cycla.<br />

Septa scarcely exsert, granulated on <strong>the</strong>ir si<strong>de</strong>s, and forming six systems, which are in<br />

general equally <strong>de</strong>veloped.<br />

are highly <strong>de</strong>veloped. Calices with a free margin, slightly elevated. No columella, or only<br />

traces <strong>of</strong> a rucUmentary one. No jya//. Sejita very broad, exsert, and forming six<br />

systems ;<br />

29. Genus Dichoccenia.<br />

Corallum glomerate, astreiform. Corallites united by a veiy abundant and <strong>de</strong>nse costal<br />

crenenchyraa, <strong>the</strong> upper surface <strong>of</strong> which is subgranulate. Calices circular or elliptical, with<br />

a projecting margin. Cohmdla small. Pali corresponding to most <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> septa, which are<br />

exsert and granulated. Multiplication fissiparous.<br />
