CoraUum essentially formed by lamellar walls, with little or no coenenchyma.<br />

chambers divi<strong>de</strong>d by numerous and well-<strong>de</strong>veloped complete tabulae.<br />

CoraUum massive. Walls perforated. Septa rudimentary. No canenchyma.<br />

1. Genus Favosites.<br />

CoraUum composed <strong>of</strong> basaltiform coraUites, and having a basal plate covered with an<br />

epi<strong>the</strong>ca, and uo radiciform appendices. Calices at right angle with <strong>the</strong> axis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> coraUite,<br />

and in general hexagonal. Walls perforated in a very regular manner. Tahulm horizontal,<br />

and very regularly superposed. No canenchyma.<br />

2. Ge7lUS MiCHELINlA.<br />

CoraUum having a basal plate with radiciform prolongations. Tabula very irregular,<br />

and subvesicular. The o<strong>the</strong>r characters as in Favosites.<br />

3. Gemis Koninckia.<br />

CoraUum resembling Favosites, but having <strong>the</strong> waUs larger and less regular, and <strong>the</strong><br />

septa constituted by series <strong>of</strong> distinct and spiuiibrm processes, interrupted at certain<br />

distances by <strong>the</strong> tabulae, which are horizontal,<br />
