22. Genus Clisiophtllum.<br />

Corallum simple, turbinate. Septa well <strong>de</strong>veloped, and rising towards <strong>the</strong> centre <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> calice so as to form a spurious columella, but not twisted.<br />

23. Gemts Aulophyllum.<br />

Corallum simple. Septa well <strong>de</strong>veloped. A double mural investment; <strong>the</strong> interior<br />

wall dividing <strong>the</strong> visceral chamber into two portions—one central and columnar, <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

exterior and annular. No columella. Tabulce but little <strong>de</strong>veloped.<br />

24. Genus Acervularia.<br />

Corallum composite, increasing by calicular gemmation. Corallitcs provi<strong>de</strong>d with a<br />

double mural investment; <strong>the</strong> inner wall disposed as in <strong>the</strong> preceding genus. Septal<br />

apparatus well <strong>de</strong>veloped between <strong>the</strong> outer and <strong>the</strong> inner walls, but much less so in <strong>the</strong><br />

central area. No columella. Tahulce not well <strong>de</strong>veloped.<br />

25. Genus Strombo<strong>de</strong>s.<br />

Corallum composite, increasing by calicular gemmation. Corallitcs constituted principally<br />

by a scries <strong>of</strong> superposed, invaginated, infundibuliform tahulce, united by ascending<br />

trabicula^, so as to form a columnar mass. Calices pentagonal, well circumscribed, and<br />

completely covered with <strong>the</strong> septal radii. Outer icalls not well <strong>de</strong>veloped ; <strong>the</strong> inner<br />

mural investment rudimentary.<br />
