Occupational Promotion
Education
- The Company has granted scholarships to worthy but poor students for their university education. In 2009, 88
scholarships were granted to the 16 th class totalling about Baht 4.8 million. The grants include tuition fees, as well as expenses for
food, accommodation and others. The Company has pursued its scholarship-granting project continuously since 1994.
- Support activities in the “Promote students’ reading habit project”.
- By developing school libraries and donating worthy books for children, for instance, those written by Her Royal
Highness Crown Princess Sirindhorn, encyclopedias and dictionaries, to schools in Mukdahan, Nakhon Phanom and Sakon
Nakhon, with an aim to inculcate a reading habit among schoolchildren.
- Organize seminars for teachers teaching the Thai language and those in charge of school libraries in 74 schools in
the northeastern region so as to promote knowledge and technique for these teachers to encourage their students to possess a
reading habit. In addition, the Company has launched a campaign stimulating both students and teachers to participate in a one-page
book contest for scholarship winning.
- Contribute Baht 100,000 for the construction of a library for juveniles for the centre for outside-school education, in
addition to providing necessary equipment in order to develop learning skills of juveniles of Kogbhodi district, Pattani.
Occupational Promotion
The Company has promoted appropriate occupational development for northeastern people through basket weaving
since 1995 by providing experts in teaching a production method and raw materials, as well as finding product outlets. Currently,
people in those areas earn additional incomes and are able to help themselves. Typically, it is the creation of a community
network, beginning with 1 village and expanding now to 5 villages consisting of over 30 households.
