SPECIAL
High up into the sky:
Ferris Wheel, “Bomber Maxxx”,
and “Katapult” Ejector Seat
regular participant at the event. As a rule, the coaster
opens in Paris in spring and can be found in Saint
Tropez in summer, before travelling on to the season's
top event in Rouen. A novelty feature appearing
at the coaster was a huge LED monitor at the
front, where visitors were able to get a first impression
of the ride by watching a film shot from the
perspective of the front gondola. “Infernal Toboggan”
was the name of the second large coaster – a
classic family attraction. The trio was completed by
the “Crazy Mouse” with rotating gondolas, and
Franck Pfausser’s “New World” swept its passengers
40 metres high up into the sky. The “Bomber
Maxxx” Propeller and the “Katapult” also shaped
the skyline of the event. The Ferris Wheel was located
in the middle of the fairground, though its somewhat
boring white and blue lighting, as well as the
lack of decoration in the centre produced a rather
negative effect. And in the case of the Freefall Tower
“Countdown” one could easily ask the question
as to why only two of the four rows of seat benches
were occupied and used by passengers, despite
strong visitor attendance after sundown.
