From October 22 nd to 20 th 2011, the Herbstkirmes
was held in the Enschede Volkspark to which 65
showmen were approved.
The following attractions were available to the visitors:
“Speed Flip” (Lauwers), “Beach Party” (Gijsberts), the
walkthrough construction “Temple of Adventure”
(Cox), “Walzer” (Cameron), the
labyrinth “Mirage” (Donk), the “Wild
Thing” Miami (Voer-Verstappen),
“Breakdance No.1“ (Zwennes),
“Mega Booster“ (Bakker-Meerveld),
the “Ghost Train” ghost ride (Regter),
“Beach Polyp” (Verwijk), the “Funny
Mouse” family coaster (Marel), the
“Mega Slide” (Poorter-Dupont),
“Snow Jet” (Veen), the “Crazy Sjimmy”
Cake Walk (Zande), the “Sound
Factory” dodgem track (de Groot),
the “Chaos” swing (Weerdt-Van Raay), and the “Vitual
World” Simulator (Oudsen-Troost). Younger visitors
however were able to enjoy the “Adventure Ride” kiddie
Traffic Garden, the “Boothesmolen” kiddie boat ride
(Eeringa), a pony ride (Trommelen), a kiddie dodgem
track (Dauphin), a bungee-trampoline (Bootsma-
Laan), The Horse Carousel (Hoefnagels), the “Walking
Waterballs” (Van Raay), the “Babysport” kiddie ride
(Rampen), and a Jet Ride. An ample choice of
gastronomic operations provided the visitors with food
and drinks and a number of game booths rounded off
the cornucopia of attractions.
The supporting programme at the Herbstkirmes
included a spectacular fireworks display on the first
Saturday evening. On Wednesday, Willie Oosterhuis,
the TV host popular in Holland, appeared at the fairground
accompanied by a film team. Thursday was the
designated 1-Euro-Day and on the second Sunday
evening the event was closed with yet another fireworks
display.
